Human genomic DNA derived from placentae is composed of that from the foetal cells and also a small number of maternal cells. The maternal cells fall away with the placenta when the placenta is delivered following birth. Human placental genomic DNA is uniquely suited to many different uses in molecular biology. Human genomic DNA can be used in applications where nucleic acid blocking is required such as Southern hybridisation, specialised cytogenetic assays, fluorescence in situ hybridisation (FISH), Northern hybridisation etc.
Cambio’s human placental genomic DNA is total human genomic DNA and will specifically block human random repeat sequences making it an ideal blocker for hybridisation experiments.
Our human genomic DNA is supplied as convenient small pack sizes (milligrams) but we also supply in bulk (gram quantities) as required. Should you require smaller pack sizes please contact Cambio.

Internal controls in PCR assays:HP DNA is supplied at a handy concentration for PCR and does not require any additional purification (available as female, male or mixed sex multiple donors). Mini-libraries allow for an increased number of PCR control HP DNA samples to work with and Mixed-sex multiple donor HP DNA provides increased flexibility with PCR controls.
Cambio’s intact human placental DNA (male or female) is isolated from fresh donor placentae by phenol extraction. The DNA is of high molecular weight and high purity. Our Sonicated DNA contains DNA fragments of consistent size. Tests have shown minimal nuclease degradation.
